Tatiana Thieme

Tatiana Thieme is a doctoral candidate at Cambridge University and one of the original implementors of the BoP Protocol

Tatiana Thieme is a graduate student at Cambridge University, a Senior Consultant to ESW and was part of the original Kenya BoP Protocol pilot team in Kenya. She earned a B.A. from Cornell University in Anthropology in 2000, and a MSc. from the London School of Economics (LSE) in Law and Anthropology in 2004, having focused on wage migration and trafficking of women. Following her LSE graduate studies, Tatiana was the head copy-editor for the Political and Legal Anthropology Review between 2005 and 2006. In the same period, Tatiana also got involved with the Cornell Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise, lead by Professor Stuart Hart.

Tatiana’s experience working in international business development in Europe for three years, combined with her concern with the development of sustainable livelihoods has allowed her to combine her interests in anthropology, human rights, and business development. Her current focus lies in the corporate interventions that promote and engage with indigenous enterprise in low-income communities, and in helping develop and implement the methodologies of applied research in the area of sustainable enterprise. Tatiana has helped guide and advise the BoP efforts of multinational companies: SC Johnson, the Solae Company and Mastercard in Africa, India, and the Philippines respectively.
